Chest hair… a bit like marmite. You either love it or hate it.
So what with male beauty products and all that becoming more and more popular, I decided this would be an interesting topic…
And also overhearing a bloke on the train talking to his mate about getting his chest fuzz lasered off.
Yep, lasered! I couldn’t quite believe my ears. Poor hair.
So, are you a hair fan or a bare fan?
Personally, I’m a fan of the hair.
A big fan actually. For me it’s all about the manliness.
But of course not every woman is same. Some like a smooth operator.
66% of woman actually, according to a recent survey.
But these days it seems men are giving us ladies a run for our money when it comes spending the hard earned cash on looking good.
And Botox and other surgical treatments are becoming increasingly popular amongst the male population.
I think the main question here is why?
Are men doing it for their partners? For themselves? For respect from their peers? Or to compete with other men? To fit in with current stereotypes of being silky smooth well pruned.
Constantly being bombarded with images of beautiful suave and sculpted men looking moody on a beach somewhere must play a part in this sudden rise of male vanity?
Or some famous bloke walking into a nightclub in an overpriced suit and expensive haircut and instantly attracting all the girls.
Which never happens btw.
Men’s cologne adverts are the worst. Especially the Davidoff one. So annoying.
Anyway, I guess with all these impeccable de-fuzzed role models, it’s not a wonder chest hair is in decline. Or any hair for that matter. Including the facial hair.
Today’s men clearly aspire to a different image of manhood.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t see anything wrong with a man taking care of himself.
Moisturise to your heart’s content if you want to. But don’t punish the body hair.
Lads, you should be proud of your hair. Wear it with pride!
Just not back hair.
Get rid of that ASAP.
